Shimmery Smokey Eye Tutorial

Smokey Shimmer Tutorial

1. Start by priming the eyelid being sure to cover the inner tear duct and the lower lash line. I like Urban Decay’s and NYX’s eye primers. Next, pat on a highlighting shadow along the brow bone. I used Mac’s “Nude.”

2. Using a dark brown eye pencil, line both upper and lower lash lines. The lines don’t need to be perfect. I used Mac’s retractable eye pencil in “Earth Sign.”

3. Blend the eye liner on the bottom lash like with a small brush and a small amount of a medium warm brown like Mac’s “Saddle.”

4. Pat on a warm, light brown eye shadow. I used Mac’s cork.

5. Deepen the crease with a darker brown. I used a basic brown from ELF’s Beautiful Bronze quad pallet.

6. Use a dark brown to line the lash line while simultaneously blending into the eye pencil line you made in step 2.

7. Take your eyeliner pencil again and make a rough cat eye line

Gold Smokey Eye Tutorial

Gold Smokey Eye Tutorial
Step 1. Prime the eye. I like Urban Decay Primer but any brand will work.

Step 2. With a soft brush, apply a soft brown shadow to the crease of your eye in-between the lid and the brow bone. I used Mac’s “Saddle” and ELF’s medium brown from their shadow quad “Beautiful Browns”

Step 3. With a small brush, apply Step.’s brown shadow to waterline. With a flat brush apply a shimmery gold shadow. I used both Mac’s loose pigment in “Ian” and NYX roll on shimmer in “Nude”.

Step 4. Apply the shimmery gold shadow you used in step 3 to the inner tear duct and along your lower lash line.

Step 5. With a liquid liner, start lining with the very tip of the brush at the inner tear duct. In short strokes, draw out the line, following the natural line of your eye lid. Before you reach the end, draw the “Cat eye” tail from the corner of the outer tear duct slightly upward, tapering off at the end.

Step 6. Connect the first line you made with tail end of your “cat eye”. Fill in any gap.

Step 7. Add 2-3 coats of Mascara to upper and lower lashes.

Step 8. To get as close as possible to the picture squeeze a small amount of glue to the band of some strip lashes. Wait for the glue to get tacky.

Step 9. Apply the lashes as close to your natural lash line as possible.

Done!
